Michael Mays grew up and attended public school in Fairfax County, Virginia. He received his college education at Virginia Commonwealth University where he graduated with honors in 1972. He then attended University of Richmond Law School where he graduated in the top 1/3 of his class in 1975. He served as Law Clerk to the Judges of the Fairfax County Circuit Court from 1975 to 1976. In the summer of 1976 Michael opened his law office in Northern Virginia and has been practicing law continuously ever since. In June 2007 Michael moved his law practice to Warrenton, Virginia. He now accepts legal matters and cases in Fauquier County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, Culpeper County and Rappahannock County, Virginia.

During his thirty two year career, he has practiced in many areas of law as a general practictioner. He now concentrates in the areas of wills, trusts and estates, estate planning, family law and the other areas indicated in this profile.

Michael was the Presiding Justice of the Elks Lodge in Fairfax, Virginia from 2004 - 2007. Michael has served on the Professionalism Committee, Lawyer Referral Committee and the Law Library Committee of the Fairfax Bar Association. Michael served as a volunteer at the Fairfax City Museum & Visitor Center from 1993 - 1997. Michael's interests include tennis, golf, music, science and history.
