The firm sets out to provide the array of services that a serious small business requires. As a transaction and litigation lawyer, I represent clients in lawsuits, the planning of transactions, and the details that such businesses frequently require: a phone call here, a phone call there, for advice on relatively minor matters.

The resources that the firm offers are several. First, it is easy to know your lawyer. You will not find layers of lawyers that you are required to use or the many potential conflicts of interest that you might find in a larger firm.

Yet, you will not sacrifice quality and sophistication, in the process of getting your own lawyer. I have been highly rated as a preeminent lawyer for years. I have served as an expert witness in estate law, corporate law, tax law, and business valuation. The sophistication of my work is manifest. I have prevailed in suits worth millions, and have weathered years of depositions and hearings, imposed by large firms, with their billion-dollar clients, or imposed by federal authorities and the Attorney General of the United States. I have handled and closed transactions worth tens of millions, under many different circumstances including triangular transactions, money center transactions, and international transactions.

And, a work background in sophisticated settings helps as well, such as Europe, New York City, New Haven, and the North Atlantic, off the coast of Russia during the cold war as an officer of a nuclear submarine.

Having worked as a CPA for Price Waterhouse, your lawyer understands the business world, large and small, as well as the negative effect of disputes and other legal problems on your business. My legal assistant, Lynne Rathman, understands the business world--large and small--as well, because she worked for high-tech companies for over a decade, racking up the fabled stock options that are prevalent in that area.

Indeed, Ms. Rathman, who has been with me for many years, has further experience in business, operating her own company and handling several large estates. She has the educational background, as well, from Texas Tech. Ms. Rathman brings her high tech knowledge to bear in the firm, to give you the advantage, and us the capability, for larger cases, that comes from the use of truly effective technology.

You will also have a team that is used to long hours, doing what it takes to meet a litigation deadline or to close a deal.

We utilize high quality office space in the middle of downtown Austin, on Congress Avenue, which is close to the banks, lawyers, accountants, government offices, and courthouses with whom you need for us to interact.
