Litigation is expensive, time consuming, emotionally draining, and may not yield cost-effective results for either party. While in some cases litigation is necessary, in most cases alternatives to litigation are more equitable and productive.

It is our philosophy that when related issues, such as support, alimony, long-term financial planning, and equitable division, are resolved together, it allows the connection between these issues to be better recognized, addressed, and more easily resolved. When related matters are addressed separately, as if in a vacuum, as is the process in many family courts, the parties feel frustrated. We want to set you and your family up for success in a functional post-divorce relationship.

You will have a professionally drafted comprehensive, self-executing property settlement agreement permitting you to live separately and conflict-free from your spouse. In families with children, these services and documents will provide you with a neutral space in which parents can focus their attention on their children's interests. In families without children, it permits parties to go their own separate ways if they so choose. In either case, the goal is to tie up the loose ends and eliminate any residual problems or issues.

Negotiation

Negotiation is a form of dispute resolution that is available when two clients, represented by their attorneys, are reasonably civil, forthcoming with information and are willing to make reasonable compromises. The advantage to negotiation is that it affords the divorcing parties great savings in time, money, and emotional frustration. Negotiation can be used to determine the terms of a property settlement, custody agreement, and/or support obligation in a contractual form. This can then be entered of record as an order of the court in which the divorce complaint was filed. No litigation need occur.
