Lawyer Overview
I have been engaged in the General Practice of Law for the last fifteen years, since leaving the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Bench as a Judge. I am recognized by my peers as a highly competent, effective trial lawyer. I am well versed in the issues of Criminal Constitutional Law and Procedure as well as Municipal Law. I am frequently consulted by other members of the profession on such topics. I am actively involved in mentoring young attorneys and law students.
My practice consists of Civil and Criminal trial work and Municipal Law. In April 1990, I was appointed the Village Attorney and the Village Prosecutor for the Village of Round Lake Park and served until April 1993. Upon the election of the current Village President, Mrs. Ila M. Bauer, I returned again in that capacity as Prosecutor and Corporate Counsel. As such, I conduct periodic seminars with Municipal Officials relating to Code Enforcement, Land Use, Municipal Administrative Procedures and similar topics. I have been able to guide officials and officers in practices designed to increase municipal revenues. I am involved in all aspects of TIF District issues, Municipal Code drafting and revisions, legal opinions and the representation of the Villages as Chief Legal Counsel. I have two associate attorneys working for me and a paralegal and investigator.
