Lawyer Overview

I have been a member of the Maryland Bar for over 35 years and my office is located in Bowie, Maryland.  I provide representation to clients in Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Howard, Charles and Calvert Counties.

My previous experience includes service as an attorney with the Estate and Gift Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service, as Assistant State's Attorney for the City of Baltimore, MD. where I prosecuted major felony cases and supervised and trained other prosecutors, and as a trial attorney with the U.S. Dept. of Justice where I was involved with civil litigation affecting the interests of the U.S. I also served as Deputy Associate General Counsel with the  Presidential Clemency Board created by President Gerald Ford to afford reconciliation to Vietnam era draft evaders and military deserters.

After leaving the public sector, I went into private practice. My practice has focused on family law, personal injury, estate planning, criminal law, and DUI/DWI.  My family law practice includes divorce, custody, alimony, and adoption matters, and the preparation of prenuptial and post-nuptial property settlement agreements.  I further provide mediation services to help spouses reach their own settlement of issues arising out of their divorce.  I also handle personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, slip and fall, defective product and wrongful death cases.  I work to obtain favorable settlements for my clients and, if necessary,  proceed with court litigation.  My representation in estate planning includes the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate and gift tax planning, and various elder law matters.  I also handle criminal matters, including representation of clients in felony, misdemeanor, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and juvenile offenses.

As a result of my extensive experience over the years, I have the skills needed to effectively represent my clients with quality service in my areas of practice.  Satisfied clients are my greatest source of referrals.
