I highly recommend Mr. Craig Patton for services where you may need legal assistance in Family Law. I have utilized his expertise in Child support and handling issues with my divorce decree since year 2000 to present. He is very professional, knowledgeable of issues, assertive, and respective among his colleagues. All documentation was taken care of through the Law Office of Craig Patton. Any time I had a question he would be available to me almost immediately after I left him a message. He worked with me through email, phone, text, and fax. Any additional documentation that would help my case, he would let me know for me to have ahead of time. Anytime before any court appearance he would make the time to consult with me and keep me abreast of how the case would unfold. He provided excellent service even though I live out of state and handled all of my issues successfully without my presence in court. I only was present in court when he felt it would most benefit my case. He has never lost any of my court cases, I only wish that I would have obtained his services sooner for my Divorce and Children Custody. I know if I would have obtained his services from the beginning my case would have turned out a lot different in my favor. Mr. Craig Patton genuinely cares about my family and kids as if they were his own. Enclosing do you and your family a favor and get the right Lawyer the first time, and that Lawyer is Craig Patton.

Mr. Patton provided me with an excellent service at a reasonable cost. Through a four year custody battle I was able to contact him with any questions I had. Mr. Patton is also very knowledgable and upfront with everything that was going on with my case. He was also very well prepared every time we went to court. I would highly recommend Mr. Patton.

Mr. Patton represented me and my son in what I can only describe as an "ugly divorce" and I chose him to represent us a second time in what turned out to be a relatively short change of custody type hearing. My reasons for choosing Mr. Patton to represent us were pretty simple; the professionalism and ethics he displayed during each meeting and especially under verbal fire from my ex-wife's attorneys was most impressive and not to mention that out of 5 of my co-workers, 4 of them recommended him (2 of which went to court "against him" being represented by other lawyers-now THAT impressed me). His fees are reasonable and Mr. Patton even refunded money that was not "used" as part of his fees for representing me (he keeps very accurate records of time spent on your case and provides you the itemized information and costs without even asking him for it) - WHAT OTHER ATTORNEY DO YOU KNOW HAS THAT TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL WORK ETHIC?!?! (.....most other lawyers would just take the money and account for it under some bogus charge) If you want an attorney that is a true PROFESSIONAL, straight forward, doesn't mislead you and offers not just his legal 'services' but also sound legal advice, I would highly recommend you contact his office.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
