Leon is a partner and Chairs the Intellectual Property Service Area. He is a licensed patent attorney with over fifteen years' experience in intellectual property litigation and transaction matters. He counsels manufacturers, inventors and entrepreneurs to ensure their intellectual capital is fully protected, and, if their rights are infringed, he seeks favorable resolution through litigation.

A frequent author and lecturer, Leon's topics cover a broad range of intellectual property issues. Most recently, he spoke before a group at the Illinois Bar Association on establishing a presence on the World Wide Web. He appeared on a television program (Chicago Access) to discuss patent issues. Leon is the Ex-Officio Chair for the Intellectual Property Section Council for the Illinois State Bar Association. He has been sought after to appear at trial as an expert witness.

Leon was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1988. He received a B.A. in Biology & Chemistry in 1980 from Indiana University. He received a J.D. in 1988 from Georgetown University, where he was the Articles Editor of the Journal of Legal Ethics, and in 1994 he received an L.L.M. with Honors, in Intellectual Property from John Marshall Law School. In addition, Leon holds a Computer Science Certificate from DePaul University.
