Professional Experience

Joel joined the Firm in September 1999. He is a member of the Firm's Securities Regulation and Business Transactions Groups and is the Practice Group Coordinator of the Corporate Group.

Areas of Emphasis

Joel represents both publicly and privately - held companies in a wide variety of matters, including public and private placements of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions, entity organizations and general corporate matters. Joel has extensive experience in public securities offerings of equity and debt securities, acquisition and resale shelf registrations and Rule 144A offerings. He regularly advises clients regarding disclosure requirements under applicable securities laws. Joel is the former Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Boston Chicken, Inc. and Senior Vice President and Secretary of Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp. Prior thereto, Joel practiced as a Securities lawyer with a firm in Chicago for seven years.
