Stephen M. Wiles was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on 2 June 1959 and attended Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After an appropriate respite, he then attended Tulane University School of Law, from which he graduated cum laude in 1986 with a Juris Doctorate. He was sworn in as a member of the Louisiana State Bar in October of 1986. He has also been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana; the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits; the United States Supreme Court; the United States Court of Federal Claims; the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas; and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Mr. Wiles also practices in various Federal Courts in the State of Mississippi and in the Mississippi Supreme Court. He has practiced in the fields of Admiralty and Maritime law, Commercial Litigation, Insurance Litigation, Unfair Trade Practices Litigation, Securities Litigation, Corporate Law, Criminal Law (both State and Federal), Personal Injury, Government Takings, Class Actions and Environmental Law. In his more than twenty years of practice, he has personally tried a multitude of bench trials and jury trials, and has to his credit a complete body of appellate practice, in both state and federal courts. Further, he has successfully handled matters before the Supreme Court of Louisiana and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State Bar Association as well as the Federal Bar Association and the Bar Association of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
