Lawyer Overview

Ronnie received her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in counseling from New York University. In 1982, Ronnie graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, New York. Ronnie was a member of the law school's Law Review and served as Research Editor of the Law Review during 1980-1982. She authored the Note, "Visitation Rights Providing Adequate Protection for the Noncustodial Parent" which was published in 1982.

Ronnie served as Law Clerk to United States District Court Judge Orinda Evans of the Northern District of Georgia from 1982-1984. Before starting her own law practice, Ronnie received legal training while working at King & Spalding and Amall, Golden & Gregory in Atlanta. In 1988, Ronnie decided to form her own law firm in order to concentrate on adoption matters. Her commitment to working in the area of adoption was based on a desire to combine both her counseling background and her law degree and her personal experience with adoption.

In addition to her law practice, Ronnie founded Adoption Planning, Inc. a Georgia licensed child-placing agency. She serves as Executive Director of the agency. The agency has a domestic placement program, conducts home studies for Georgia residents pursuing domestic, embryo and international adoption, and coordinates a Korea program.

Since her first adoption case in 1988, Ronnie has established herself as one of Georgia's most experienced adoption attorneys. She was the first Georgia attorney to be admitted to the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. Ronnie has handled approximately 2,000 adoptions and is known nationally for her expertise in all types of adoption matters. She speaks frequently at seminars for attorneys, including those sponsored by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Georgia.
