Law Firm Overview

I have been practicing law since 1978, primarily in the fields of personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability. I have expanded my practice as an appellate specialist practicing primarily in the Appellate Divisions and Court of Appeals for members of the personal injury bar in New York. I recently had an opinion published in the New York Law Journal , O'Sullivan v. Presbyterian Hospital , concerning the standard of care for psychiatric malpractice cases. I have edited several articles in the area of psychiatric malpractice for the American Trial Lawyers Association.

I graduated New York Law School in 1977 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1978. My first job after law school was with the New York City Law Department in the Tort Division, Brooklyn. I handled all manner of cases concerning the City of New York, and was given the specific task of defending the City in Civil Rights and police brutality cases in Federal District Court, Eastern District of New York. I was also co-chief of the Small Claims Division in Brooklyn where the City appeared as a result of various complaints concerning property damage and personal injury.

When I left the Law Department, I was an associate with a medium size midtown firm, heading up the personal injury department and handling various other litigation matters including matrimonial, criminal, administrative, commercial and appeals. After six years with the firm, I left to start my own firm, dealing primarily with plaintiffs' personal injury cases, including appeals for members of the personal injury bar. I have appeared for argument in the various Appellate Divisions and the Court of Appeals. I subscribe to all major on-line legal research services and obtain daily updates of recent tort law developments both in New York and on a national basis.
