Christine B. Chua focuses her practice on patent litigation and counseling, serving clients in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Her experience includes work with various technologies across the life sciences, including recombinant gene expression, medical diagnostics, immunoassays, cancer therapies, nutritional supplements, industrial enzymes, and fermentation processes.

Ms. Chua’s counseling and prosecution experience includes the preparation of validity and freedom-to-operate opinions, IP due diligence in connection with corporate transactions and financing, peer review analyses of patent portfolios, inventorship determinations, and participation in reexamination, interference, and patent procurement matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

In the litigation arena, Ms. Chua’s experience spans all aspects of trial practice, from pre-suit investigation through post-trial motions and appeal, in district courts across the United States, including the District of Delaware, the Eastern District of Texas, the Northern District of California, and appeals before the Federal Circuit. Her patent enforcement experience also includes representing branded clients in litigation with generics under the Hatch-Waxman Act.
