Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Mr. Simko spent seven years (1984 to 1991) as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Sunshine Mining and Refining Company, and ten years as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, retiring in 2001 to re-enter the private practice of law. He was Commissioner of the Idaho State Bar from 1978 to 1981, and President in 1981. He was also President of the Silver Institute, a trade association of miners and refiners of silver from the U.
