John’s practice involves real estate, environmental and transaction law. John considers his most memorable professional accomplishment the culmination of the sale of Bethlehem Steel to the International Steel Group for $1.5 billion while he was counsel at Bethlehem Steel. John is a graduate of The University of Notre Dame and the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University. You could probably say he stalks the Notre Dame football team, and has traveled all over the country to watch them play.

John provides counsel on numerous transactions, including:

• Loan transactions
• Corporate restructurings and acquisitions
• Divestitures and leases of commercial and residential properties and businesses
• Industrial development authority financings
• Commercial agreements

He also serves as one of the firm’s corporate environmental counsel, focusing on soil remediation with involvement in air, water and Superfund matters. While at Bethlehem Steel he directed the development and implementation of strategies to manage $350 million of assets and liabilities associated with over 75 facilities and properties in Pennsylvania, across the U.S. and internationally. In his career, he has been involved with more than $3 billion of transactions and financings.

His office is loaded with memorabilia — much of it blue ? gold, including his Man of the Year award for community service for Notre Dame — but also a photograph of his grandfather’s store in Easton … pictures of the athletes who inspired him as a child … and a collage his son created. It all seems to reflect his years of amazingly diverse experience.
