Renaud Bonnet's areas of practice include venture capital, private equity, M&A, and capital markets. In the past 10 years, his main focus has been on the representation of start-ups and high-growth public companies and their management — or investors — at all stages of their development in a wide variety of industries (life sciences, energy, software, mobile/telecom, semiconductors, and the internet). He has acted as principal lawyer in a significant number of early to late stage venture capital financing rounds, LBO and M&A transactions, joint ventures, IPOs, rights issues, private placements, and tender offers.

Renaud's recent representations of tech/biotech companies include Alizé Pharma, Bioalliance, Cellectis, Criteo, Cytheris, Hubwoo, Inside Contactless, Novexel, SAP, Talend, and Voltalia, and, on the investors' side, Activa Capital, Alven, Elaia Partners, Endeavour, le Fonds de consolidation et de développement des entreprises (FCDE), le Fonds stratégique d'investissement (FSI), Serena Capital, SGAM, Seventure Partners, and Viveris.

Renaud served as lead lawyer in a number of recent high-profile strategic transactions, including: the acquisition by Verbund (the largest Austrian company) of a controlling stake in Poweo, Completel's friendly takeover by Altice for $1 billion, the successful defense of Wavecom against Gemalto's hostile bid and subsequent friendly takeover of Wavecom by Sierra Wireless, and the sale of Novexel to AstraZeneca for $505 million.

Renaud's experience prior to joining Jones Day in 2000 includes practicing in Brussels and New York, as well as in Paris.
