Lawyer Overview

Susan focuses her practice on White Collar Criminal and Civil defense and Securities Litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Susan was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania investigating and prosecuting white collar crime.  As an AUSA and prior to that as a Chief Deputy District Attorney, Susan conducted extensive investigations of companies and individuals for securities violations.  As an AUSA, Susan prosecuted a general counsel of a company for insider trading and large rings of individuals for institutional financial fraud and identity scams.  Susan also prosecuted individual selling securities for ponzi schemes.

Also, during her tenure as an AUSA Susan investigated and prosecuted major pharmaceutical companies for criminal violations in connection with parallel civil proceedings of the False Claims Act.  On September 29, 2008 the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced a $425 million settlement, which included civil and criminal pieces, with drug maker Cephalon.  Susan was one of the two Assistant United States Attorneys who investigated and negotiated the settlement with Cephalon.

Susan also prosecuted doctors and treatment centers for health care fraud.

Susan has conducted many protracted grand jury investigations as an AUSA and as a Chief Deputy District Attorney. 

Besides her broad range of white collar investigations and prosecutions, Susan has prosecuted many violent offenders and all types of crimes.

In her 17 years as a prosecutor, Susan has tried many cases before Judges and Juries in the Federal and State courts.
