The foundation Michael  Silverman's family law practice has been highly personal service focused on the individual needs of each client .  When a client retains Mr. Silverman, the process begins with a detailed initial interview.  The the goal of this interview is to gather all of the information necessary to advise the client about their options and to provide recommendations.  If additional information is needed for this purpose, then a plan is formulated for obtaining that additional information.

After the the initial interview, Mr. Silverman and the client formulate a plan.  This plan may include initiating mediation or engaging in negotations.  The plan may also include the drafting of a proposed "Marital Settlement Agreement" or other binding document.  Finally, if necessay, Mr. Silverman will promptly file the appropriate lawsuit.

When children are involved in family law matters, Mr. Silverman's goal to help his client's achieve what is in the best interest of their children.  In a particular case, this may include helping the client obtain custody of the children or particular visitation rights. It may also include addressing appropriate  financial arrangements for the children such as child support, health insurance coverage, work related daycare,  private school tuitition, or college tuition.  

When abuse is involved in family law matters, Mr. Silverman is adept at taking advantage of the various community resources that are available for both parties.  Mr. Silverman is experienced at implementing safety plans for victims and helping abusers obtain help.  Mr. Silverman will not hesitate to obtain from the courts the protection victims need and will vigorouly defend those unjustly accused.

Mr. Silverman has a strong financial and tax law background.  This experience is particularly advantagious for his clients when addressing issues such as alimony, the division of property and investment, and structuring resolutions to that serve the parties long term needs.

Mr. Silverman is committed to the absolute best service possible for each client.  Telephone calls are promptly returned, clients are regularly updated about their cases, and costs are minimized when possible.  Mr. Silverman has a small, highly trained, staff that are committed these goals.  This staff is available to each client for their ongoing needs.

If a client's case ends up in court, it is Mr. Silverman who will be repesenting the client.  There will be no associates or subordinates handling the crucial aspects of a client's case.
