Law Firm Overview

Murray & Murray was founded by two brothers, Emmett and Tom, at the height of the Depression. Emmett opened the law office in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1931. He then encouraged and supported his brother Tom to get his education and join him representing working people in this Midwestern community on Lake Erie. The brothers grew up in a large Irish, Catholic family where integrity, loyalty and good humor fostered both ambition and a sense of justice. Honed by the hardships of the Great Depression they used their wits and love of hard work to help citizens in need of legal representation achieve a fair and just opportunity before the bar of justice.

Murray & Murray now has eleven Murrays in the firm- six sons, three grandsons and two granddaughters of Emmett and Tom.

The firm represents the original philosophy engendered by the founders: representation of working men and women, individuals injured physically or financially through no fault of their own.

Murray & Murray has always worked at being on the cutting edge in representing the client. The firm created the original traveling studio on wheels for recording depositions. In 1994, the firm moved from its longtime location on Central Avenue to a new, state of the art building on the Sandusky Bay of Lake Erie. Tradition and innovation are working together to serve those they represent.
