The Past--A Proud Tradition

Stryker, Tams & Dill was established in 1898 as Lindabury, Depue & Faulks. Founding partner Richard V. Lindabury incorporated United States Steel, mutualized The Prudential Insurance Company of America and was the first general counsel of each. The firm represented many other major corporations, including Standard Oil of New Jersey and the American Tobacco Company. Although founded primarily as a corporate and trusts and estates firm, Stryker greatly expanded its litigation practice in the 1940s and '50s. In 1961, the firm became Stryker, Tams & Dill, in recognition of the contribution of trial attorney William L. Dill.
