Lawyer Overview

Marc Blackman practices intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has represented clients in federal courts throughout the country as well as in the International Trade Commission. Marc has handled cases involving such diverse technologies as computer hardware and software, semiconductors and semiconductor fabrication, digital signal processors, flash memory, digital cameras, cellular telephones, children's toys, and household products.

Marc recently represented Limited Brands, Bath and Body Works, Inc., and Henri Bendel in their appeal against an adverse patent infringement judgment of nearly $3 million. The Federal Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the judgment finding the asserted patent claims invalid and not infringed (Ball Aerosol and Specialty Container, Inc. v. Limited Brands, Inc., et al., 555 F.3d 984). Marc also recently represented Fisher-Price, IBM, Motorola, Nikon, Nokia, and Texas Instruments.

Marc is a member of The Chicago Bar Association.
