Lawyer Overview

Shahid's principal areas of practice are oil and gas law, project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and international business transactions. Shahid focuses his practice on the acquisition, disposition, and financing of oil and gas assets and companies. He also has extensive experience with the development of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. He has negotiated and drafted the full suite of project documents (for example, EPC contracts, fuel supply and offtake agreements, power purchase agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, etc.) for projects such as power plants, wind farms, pipelines, toll roads, and refineries.

As a result of the many transactions that Shahid has done involving Middle Eastern and Asian investors, he also has substantial experience in the development and implementation of Islamic or Shari'ah-compliant financing and investment structures.

Shahid is a member of the Houston Producers' Forum and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
