Law Firm Overview

In 1961, Preston C. Carlisle established his law firm at the historic Preston King Building in Ogdensburg, New York. The Preston King Building was built in1800 and named after the United States Senator, Preston King, who lived there when he was a United States Senator. Preston King was related to Preston Carlisle and the building has been owned by a member of the family since the mid 1800's.

While still continuing to practice law at his firm, in 1967, Preston Carlisle became the first Assistant District Attorney of St. Lawrence County and remained in that position until 1975. In 1975, Preston Carlisle left his work with the District Attorney’s Office to work full-time in the general practice of law. Since that time Preston C. Carlisle, P. C., which consists of attorneys Preston C. Carlisle, Alice J. Carrothers and Molly E. Clough, has come to be recognized as one of the most prominent law firms in St. Lawrence County concentrating in workers’compensation, social security and personal injury law.
