Mr. Gallagher practices in the areas of employment, business and contract litigation. His clients are primarily individuals and small businesses seeking to assert or protect their rights. He has been very active in the Montgomery County Bar Association, having served as Chairman of the MBA's Labor and Employment Law Committee in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008, he served as Chairman of MBA's General Practice Committee. Mr. Gallagher recently relocated his main office to Paoli and he has joined the Chester County Bar Association.

  • 146 Montgomery Investors, LP v. Parke Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine, Inc., 2005 WL 2562910 (Phila.Com.Pl. 2005) (granting petition of medical practice to transfer venue from Philadelphia to Montgomery County in real estate dispute).
  • Karedes v. Gannett Company, Inc., et al, 423 F.3rd 107 (2nd Cir. 2005) (obtaining reversal of decisions dismissing libel and defamation claims on behalf of public figure).
  • Northwestern Human Services v. Panaccio, 2005 WL 1353609 (E.D. Pa.) (obtaining dismissal of civil RICO action against accountant).
  • Singley v. Villanova Univ., 851 A.2d 200 (Pa. Super 2004) (granting University's petition to transfer venue from Philadelphia to Delaware County in personal injury matter).
  • John L. Karedes v. Colella, 100 N.Y.2d 45, 760 N.Y.S.2d 84, 790 N.E.2d 257 (2003) (highest State Court in New York reversing appellate decision and reinstating trial court finding that municipal contract valid and enforceable).
  • In Re Bridgeport Fire Litigation, 61 Pa. D&C 4th 147 (2003) (certifying Class Action in industrial fire case).
  • Gemini Business Machines v. Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, 140 M.C.L.R. 53 (October 1, 2002) (vacating $1.2 million jury verdict and ordering new trial).
  • Louis J. Karedes v. Village of Endicott, 297 A.D.2d 413, 746 N.Y.S.2d 96, (N.Y.A.D. 3 Dept., Aug 01, 2002) (affirming trial court's decision holding "midnight hour, lame duck" municipal contract binding on successors and thus valid and enforceable).
  • In re Asousa Partnership, 264 B.R. 376 (Bankr.E.D. Pa., Jul 02, 2001) (examining abstention doctrine and remanding case back to state court).
  • John L. Karedes v. Colella, 187 Misc.2d 656, 722 N.Y.S.2d 714, (N.Y.Sup., Feb 15, 2001) (successful mandamus action against Mayor and Village declaring municipal contract valid and enforceable).
  • Grimm Bros. v. R & R Properties, Inc., 137 Montg.Co.L.R. 229 (2000), aff'd Dec. 1, 2000 (striking mechanic's lien).
  • Valley Forge Convention & Visitors Bureau v. VSI, 28 F. Supp. 2d 947 (E.D. Pa. 1998) (partially granting motion to dismiss and examining effect of limitation of liability clause on commercial contract as well as Pennsylvania's tortious interference with contractual relations doctrine).
  • Bethel v. McAllister Brothers, Inc., 81 F.3d 376 (3d Cir. 1996) (in case involving libel/drug testing, court upheld trial court's decision to grant new trial on basis of fraud).

Prior to forming his own law firm, Mr. Gallagher practiced in the prominent Norristown law firm of High, Swartz, Roberts & Seidel from 1996 to 2006. Prior to working for High Swartz, Mr. Gallagher was an associate in the mid-sized Philadelphia law firm of Harvey, Pennington, Herting & Renneisen LLC, practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, employment and negligence litigation, and labor relations.

Mr. Gallagher has handled a number of high-profile matters. He has appeared on Wally Kennedy - Live and has seen a number of his cases featured in publications such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Business Journal, The Legal Intelligencer, The Montgomery County Times Herald, The West Chester Daily Local and The Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin (New York). He has also discussed his cases on more than one occasion on all of the evening news programs and radio stations serving the Philadelphia region, as well as several media outlets serving the Southern Tier of New York. He has published numerous articles on a variety of topics, and is regularly consulted by suburban newspapers to obtain his views on civil rights issues.

He also publishes a blog, Employment Law 101, which provides current information on hot employment topics.

In 1991, Mr. Gallagher graduated cum laude from New England Law School, located in downtown Boston. While at New England, Mr. Gallagher was twice given the New England Scholar Award and was a Senior Editor on the Law Review. He was on the Dean' s List each semester.

Mr. Gallagher resides in Willistown with his four children, Dylan, Amanda, Charles and Sam. Dylan attends the University of Pittsburgh, and his other children attend the Great Valley School District. He has coached many activities, including girls and boys basketball, soccer and softball/baseball.
