David Ivey concentrates his practice in the application of export and import laws and regulations, anti-bribery, economic sanctions, anti-boycott, government contracting, and customs. Mr. Ivey actively counsels and assists clients with assessment, due diligence, compliance, licensing, disclosures, and enforcement actions in connection with U.S. export control laws and with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations. These laws and regulations include the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) administered by the Department of State—Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) administered by the Department of Commerce—Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS), economic and trade sanctions enforced by the U.S. Department of Treasury—Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforced jointly by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Mr. Ivey’s practice also includes representation in connection with the Federal Acquisition and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS & D-FARS), Foreign Trade Agreements (FTAs), technology controls, foreign nationals and “deemed exports,” and compliance through the supply chain with these laws and regulations.

Mr. Ivey is an experienced civil trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. He has spoken to industry and trade groups on topics related to litigation and U.S. export controls, sanctions programs and anti-corruption regulations. He has been interviewed by and quoted in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and the Oil Daily.
