Lawyer Overview

My practice objective for my firm is to provide professional and informed representation in the most expeditious and economical manner possible in consideration of each client's circumstances. Amicable settlement is the ultimate goal, if it is possible, to avoid the financial and emotional cost of litigation.

I am a caring and responsive family and marital law attorney with fourteen years of exclusive experience in the areas of divorce, child custody/visitation/child support, stepparent adoptions, adoptions and name changes.

I provide personal, professional representation with expeditious and cost-effective resolutions tailored to resolve your individual circumstances. I understand the emotional and financial costs of litigation and I will resolve in the most expeditious and cost-effective manner possible the following legal matters:

  • Divorce, including military, uncontested and contested
  • Child custody, visitation, support (children's issues whether married or not)
  • Paternity determinations
  • Alimony, maintenance, support
  • Equitable distribution of assets and liabilities
  • Retirement and pension (private and military) distribution orders
  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial (marital) agreements
  • Modification and enforcement of final judgments
  • Bankruptcy, foreclosure and debt relief
  • Stepparent adoptions and inter-family adoptions
  • Name changes

Although I strive for an amicable resolution of a divorce and family law case, there are circumstances where it is not possible to resolve the client's case amicably. Under these circumstances, I will aggressively represent the client to attain the best result to which the client is legally entitled. I will advise the client as to the law regarding the client's issues and I will not mislead the client if the client desires an outcome which is not legally possible. My first priority is to obtain a result for the client which is in his or her best interest and legally obtainable. My contact with my clients is in a casual, yet professional manner and I will always represent my clients in a professional and ethical manner with the Court and all parties involved in the case.

  • Furthermore, I and my team have the experience to assist you if you are overwhelmed with debt. As property is divided in divorce, and one household is divided into two, divorce sometimes has the unexpected consequence of serious financial issues leading to bankruptcy. Even if you are not going through a divorce, if your debt is unmanageable, you are threatened by home foreclosure, or you have any questions regarding restructuring business or consumer debt unrelated to bankruptcy, I, my associate attorneys and legal staff, provide experienced Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy law legal services.

If you have questions regarding divorce, family law or bankruptcy law, contact us. (Se habla espanol) I provide a free initial consultation, accept MasterCard and Visa, and charge reasonable and competitive rates. Furthermore, I employ a highly qualified staff of legal assistants and associate attorneys, including a Spanish-speaking associate attorney.

My office is conveniently located in the Brandon, Riverview area on Highway 301 South directly off of Interstate 75 near the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and is easy access to all of the Tampa area via I-75 and the Crosstown Expressway. Call or contact my firm by email ( attylaguna@aol.com ).

I serve clients throughout Hillsborough County, including the areas of Tampa, New Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Gibsonton, Lithia, Mango, Palm River, Seffner, Sun City Center, Apollo Beach, Ruskin and MacDill Air Force Base.
