Lawyer Overview

Rich Puttré represents lenders, underwriters, and borrowers in conventional and complex financing structures, with a primary focus on cross-border project finance transactions. He counsels financial institutions, project sponsors, and investors in the development, financing, acquisition, and disposition of infrastructure companies and assets throughout the world, principally in the transportation and renewable energy sectors. Rich is co-chair of the Global Infrastructure Practice and a leader of the Latin America Practice.

Rich represented the lenders in the leveraged lease financing of the Nevada Solar One Project and in connection with various wind power projects in the United States. He has been actively involved in the nascent American public-private partnership sector, representing various bidders in connection with infrastructure projects in Illinois, Indiana, and Colorado. Rich has extensive experience in cross-border transactions throughout Latin America. He recently represented the lenders in two major toll road financings in Costa Rica as well as the developers in connection with a major 85MW hydroelectric generation project in Panama. His representative clients include Acciona, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, Banco Santander, Caja Madrid, Sacyr Vallehermoso, and Unión Fenosa.

Rich has written articles and spoken at conferences and seminars on infrastructure and energy topics in the United States and Latin America and has lectured at the Instituto de Empresa and the San Pablo CEU University in Madrid.
