Lawyer Overview

Brooke Bumpers' practice focuses primarily on regulatory and legislative issues faced by a wide variety of health care providers and businesses, including clinical laboratories, , medical device manufacturers, managed care companies, hospices, academic medical centers, and health care provider associations. She has extensive experience assisting clients with coding, coverage and reimbursement of health care services and devices, and regularly counsels clients on understanding and complying with Medicare, Medicaid and other federal and state law requirements applicable to various sectors of the health care industry. Brooke has assisted managed care clients with a wide range of issues, including participation in Medicare's managed care program, Medicare Advantage, other Medicare initiatives and programs, and state licensure and regulatory requirements. She also has worked with health care clients in drafting, monitoring and lobbying for federal legislative changes. In addition, Brooke frequently works with clients on issues related to regulation of human tissue, reproductive medicine and telemedicine.

Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Brooke was an associate in the health care groups of the Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. offices of a national law firm. Before attending law school, Brooke worked on health education and maternal and child health policy for the California Medical Association, and in the Public Affairs Division of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. She has spoken and written on legal issues facing the clinical laboratory, hospice and home health industries, and serves on Capital Hospice's Community Advisory Board for the District of Columbia.
