General Practice Areas
The firm can be easily described as a small firm with big firm experience. Our small firm size allows personal service and accountability to our clients. However, the breadth of services offered and the depth and diversity of our attorneys' experience allows us to meet and exceed our clients' needs.
The firm is active in many areas of civil practice, with an almost equal division between litigation and non-litigation matters. All aspects of real estate and lending law are handled, including business and real estate buy-sell transactions and negotiations, office, industrial, retail and residential developments, leasing, loan documentation, deed of trust sales, loan workouts, foreclosure proceedings, receivership actions, creditors' proceedings in bankruptcy and eminent domain matters.
A significant portion of the firm's business involves transactional construction law, real estate and business contract negotiation, dispute resolution and construction litigation. The firm represents some of the leading local and national builders and developers in virtually all areas of real estate and construction law, including, but not limited to, commercial, retail and residential development, sales and leasing, construction defect and delay disputes, lien and bond claims and public bid protests. The firm also handles virtually all aspects of commercial law, including general business, corporate, limited liability company and partnership law, taxation, employment law, bankruptcy proceedings, estate planning, probate, domestic relations and criminal. The firm represents both large and small businesses, individuals and commercial enterprises, handling a wide array of legal issues.
The litigation team is comprised of skilled trial lawyers and support staff trained to complement and supplement the firm's other practice areas, providing the firm's clients with an immediate resource for litigation prevention, whenever possible, and trial court representation, when necessary. Serious personal injury and insurance defense matters are also primary areas of practice. Our litigation department has extensive commercial, business and corporate dispute experience, including shareholder, partner and member disputes, dissolution proceedings, buy- out and valuation disputes, unfair competition, shareholder claims, director and officer fiduciary duty claims.
