Ms. Holland received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, her Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College School of Social Work, City University of New York and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law, in Coral Gables, Florida. Ms. Holland has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1985. Since 1986, Ms. Holland has been a specialist in employment law, first as staff counsel for the Florida Education Association, Florida's teacher's union, and, commencing in 1991, in private practice.

Ms. Holland's practice covers a wide range of employment litigation at the trial and appellate levels, including representing clients in retaliation and employment discrimination cases based on gender (including sexual harassment), age, disability, race, and national origin; representing teachers, state, local and federal government employees in grievances, arbitrations and disciplinary appeals; representing clients in Family Medical Leave Act and wage and hour cases; and advising clients regarding severance and non-compete agreements.

Ms. Holland has lectured on topics such as sexual harassment, race discrimination and the employment rights of teachers for organizations such as the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the NAACP, and the Florida Education Association. She is an adjunct faculty member at Barry University, where she teaches a master's level policy course.

Ms. Holland is a past executive board member for the National Bar Association, Women Lawyer's Division, Dade County Chapter; a past member of the Judicial Sensitivity and Diversity Training Committee, Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Miami-Dade County; and a present Board Member of the New Horizons Community Mental Health Center.
