New Paltz is a moderate size college town with about 10,000 permanent residents in addition to a college population of about 8,000. The origins of Blatchly & Simonson date back to 1977, and the firm's two partners have practiced together since 1992. Both partners maintain active litigation practices with concentrations in matrimonial, personal injury and commercial litigation. As a full service law firm, the partners also represent clients in real estate and estate planning matters, and take pride in servicing all of the legal needs of their clients.

The philosophy of Blatchly & Simonson remains true to the goals set by the partners years ago, which are to provide a broad range of high quality legal service to their clients efficiently and at affordable rates.
