Lawyer Overview

Kevin has significant experience in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, with an emphasis in high-technology matters. He has appeared in actions brought in state and federal courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Kevin also has substantial experience in intellectual property licenses, joint ventures, and technology development transactions across a wide range of technologies, including software, semiconductors, smart cards, encryption, and digital signal processing. Representative clients include Hughes Electronics Corporation, Hughes Space and Communications Company, Hughes Aircraft Company, DIRECTV, Motorola, Cardiac Science, and American Honda Motor Company.

Kevin is admitted to practice in the state courts of California and Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Federal Circuits, and other federal district courts. He has authored or co-authored several articles on intellectual property and has made presentations during workshops held at the Licensing Executive Society annual meetings. Kevin lectures frequently on intellectual property issues at the Anderson School of Business of the University of California, Los Angeles. He also has presented workshops on intellectual property as part of the CalTech-MIT Enterprise Forum.
