Lawyer Overview

Jim Craven is a senior associate involved in all areas of Wiggin and Dana’s litigation practice. His diverse practice includes representing clients in commercial disputes, product liability claims, complex personal injury and professional malpractice matters, tax appeals, and toxic torts.

Jim received his B.A. in economics from Dickinson College in 1990 and his J.D in 1994 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law cum laude where he was a member of the Dean’s Tutorial Society, the Case Western Reserve Law Review, and Health Matrix: the Journal of Law-Mdicine.

Before joining Wiggin and Dana LLP, Jim served as a Senior Trial Counsel in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Fourth Infantry Division (Mechanized) where he first chaired numerous trials and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.

Jim is an elected representative to the Connecticut Bar Association's House of Delegates, is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Haven County Bar Foundation, serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association, Chairs one of the Defense Research Institute's subcommittees, is a member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and is on the Connecticut Bar Association's Litigation Section eDiscovery task force.
