Lawyer Overview

Dave is Of Counsel in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office, is a member of the Trade Regulation Section and has served on the firm’s board of directors. Dave practices principally in the areas of:

• Intellectual property
• Commercial litigation
• Insurance law
• Franchise relations

Dave practices in both state and federal courts. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. Dave has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law. Dave was named a "Leading American Attorney." He has also been designated a "Super Lawyer" by Minnesota Law & Politics.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dave received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and was elected to Order of the Coif. Dave joined Briggs in 1958.
