Lawyer Overview

Pamela Gale Johnson joined the firm’s Houston office as a business partner in June 1995. Ms. Johnson has experience in complex commercial litigation matters and is Board Certified by both the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for both the Business Bankruptcy Division and the Consumer Bankruptcy Division. Her practice includes bankruptcy litigation, creditors’ rights and corporate reorganization matters. Ms. Johnson has represented debtors-in-possession, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, indenture trustees and parties acquiring assets from bankruptcy cases. Ms. Johnson has significant experience in the prosecution and defense of preference and fraudulent transfer actions. She has also represented lending institutions, mortgage companies and large corporate clients in connection with real estate and bankruptcy related issues. Ms. Johnson has been regional litigation and bankruptcy counsel for a global financial services company managing their consumer litigation and bankruptcy work for one-half of the United States.

From 1990 to 2008, Ms. Johnson served as a member of the private panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Johnson is a member of the American, Texas and Houston Bar Association, Houston Bankruptcy Conference, American Bankruptcy Institute, Federal Bar Association of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and a charter member and Master of the Bench of the Honorable Arthur L. Moller/David B. Foltz Jr. American Inns of Court. She has written articles on both business and consumer bankruptcy proceedings, the protection of creditors in insolvency proceedings and has lectured on various bankruptcy topics. In 2006 Ms. Johnson was recognized in H Texas magazine as one of “Houston’s Lawyers for the People.” Ms. Johnson was recognized as one of “Houston’s Top Lawyers” in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
