Summary
Lawyer Overview
Brian Stutheit is the firm's founding member. He has been engaged in civil litigation since approximately 1986. He tries cases to juries and judges in the State Courts of Colorado and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. His most recent (2008) jury trial in the State Court was a construction defect dispute. His most recent jury trial in the United States District Court was a wrongful termination of employment matter.
Mr. Stutheit is experienced with and capable of resolving non-compete agreements, subrogation claims, disability insurance disputes, claims against architects, engineers and contractors, disputes among heirs, personal injury claims, and employee rights claims.
Prior to starting Stutheit & Gartland, P.C. in 1998, Mr. Stutheit worked for 15 years for a law firm which specialized in defense of professional liability claims, personal injury and construction litigation. The firm also had a successful estate planning practice, and Mr. Stutheit became the firm's sole litigator for probate disputes.
Mr. Stutheit's first job out of law school was as a lobbyist for the Colorado Medical Society. His drafts of a controlled substances act, and physician assistant licensure act, became law.
