Lawyer Overview
Todd Kennard has represented clients in class actions and complex commercial litigation, securities, ERISA, and consumer matters in various states and jurisdictions throughout the country. He has served as counsel on matters involving securities claims, product claims, dealer litigation, and franchisor/franchisee, distributor, commercial, and other disputes involving Jones Day clients, including Dell, GM, Toyota, Cardinal Health, Standard Insurance Company, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, and American Electric Power, among others. He has served as chief trial counsel in trying cases to court and administrative law judges in different jurisdictions and forums in the United States and has handled and been involved in appellate proceedings through every level of state and federal courts, including as lead counsel in the Ohio Supreme Court.
Todd also has represented clients involved in contract disputes, securities fraud, construction claims, accidents, and many other complex commercial claims. Todd has taken and defended more than 100 depositions of experts or other witnesses working in the fields of accounting, securities issues, marketing, statistics, disease causation, medical sciences, epidemiology, warnings, and other issues. He also has substantial litigation experience defending clients against consumer, securities, product claims, franchise and distributor disputes, commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance litigation, and state and federal statutory and consumer claims.
Todd also has represented the Ohio State Bar Association in matters while serving on the bar association's statewide Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee.
Todd is a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and is a member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations.
