Law Firm Overview

The focus of the Turley Law Firm is representing victims and families in personal injury and wrongful death claims. Since its inception, the Turley Law Firm has represented and helped thousands of individuals and families to recover losses occasioned by the negligent and wrongful conduct of individuals, manufacturers, hospitals, corporations, various governmental entities, and institutions.

Windle Turley started the Turley Law Firm in 1973 with only one employee. Today, all of the attorneys and support staff reflects the continued commitment to quality representation and a determination to find a solution for each individual client.

In the beginning as today, the focus of the law practice is representing victims and families in personal injury and death claims to recover losses occasioned by the wrongful conduct of individuals, manufacturers, hospitals, corporations, governmental entities, and institutions.

The Firm has always been willing to take on novel, and sometimes controversial, cases. Early on, Turley and attorneys at the Firm pioneered aviation crashworthiness cases. Crashworthiness had become a viable theory in automobile cases; and the Firm sought to extend the theory to general aviation, taking the position that planes should be designed so that people can survive otherwise survivable air crashes.

From 1972, when Windle Turley first argued to the United States Supreme Court for the rights of Texas children of unwed mothers, until today, the Firm continues to call to account institutions that abuse children.

Later, in the early 1980s, the Firm undertook a special project dealing with handgun litigation. Long before the "Brady Bill" and other gun control initiatives, the Firm sought to put some brakes on the escalating violence, injuries, and deaths occasioned by handgun sales. Products liability law and other theories were utilized to discourage manufacturers of dangerous weapons, from facilitating their improper use by holding individuals and companies financially responsible for injuries guns caused.

In 1997, the Firm helped open the doors to expose the abuse of Catholic children with its record-setting judgment on behalf of 11 abused boys in Dallas, Texas.

The Firm’s specialized areas of focus within the personal injury practice includes Product Liability cases dealing with defective products and drugs. The Negligence attorneys represent clients in motor vehicle, premises, and workplace cases. The Medical Malpractice attorneys address injuries from health care providers, while the Aviation cases deal with injuries and deaths involving commercial, military, and general aviation. Handling sexual molestation and abuse cases also is a large part of the practice. In addition, the Firm has an in-house Appellate attorney who is active and instrumental in developing and expanding the protection afforded victims in the personal injury field. The Firm continues to focus on injury prevention and providing relief to those hurt by the wrongful conduct of others.
