Mr. Griffin was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 17, 1945. He attended Tulane University of Louisiana, graduating in 1967. He is a 1970 graduate of Wayne State University School of Law. Mr. Griffin was 1^st Lieutenant in the JAGC, U.S. Air Force between 1970 and 1972. He maintains memberships in the Genesee County Bar Association (past president), State Bar of Michigan (past chairperson of the Negligence Section), American Bar Association and Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (past president). He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Griffin maintains a trial practice including personal injury law, municipal law, general litigation, and medical/legal litigation with a specialty in the defense of hospitals and physicians.
