Summary

Law Firm Overview

When I established my own law practice in 1990, I decided that there were some basic principles that I would hold inviolable.  These are those tenets.  I will offer you the same quality of work that you find with big city law firms, but with all the personalized benefits of small city service.

The quality of my work is assured by:

  • first-tier legal education
  • over 25 years of experience
  • consistent dedication to keep abreast on changing laws and new developments
  • continual reading and study to increase my understanding of the law

I will treat each case as deserving of my personal care and experience.  I will take the time to inform my clients of the ways that the laws relate to them and their particular situations so that they can make informed decisions as to the course of their situation.

I will use the efficiencies offered by modern technology to help my clients, not to de-personalize them.  I won't use technology to create a law "factory".  For me, the time-honored personal touch of human communication is one of the essentials of good service.  Although I have staff to help me, almost all of your contact will be directly with me.

Besides service to my clients, I use my skills in service to my community.  Currently, I am on the Board of Trustees of the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.  In the past, I have also served on the Board, and volunteered my services to the Finger Lakes Land Trust, Inc. Both entities are organizations which help to preserve the quality of life that we have here in the Finger Lakes.

  • For those of you who own some land that you would like to preserve for future generations, be sure to ask me about the use of conservation easements.  I would be happy to help you make a donation to the Land
Trust or the conservation organization of your choice.

  • Finally, in my work, as in the rest of my life, I limit my adverse impact on this world.  I try to eliminate, as much as possible, the use of paper by sending and storing correspondence electronically. I find that using e-mail is an easy and efficient way to keep my clients up-to-date on the progress of their matter.  When I do have to use paper, I try to use recycled paper products whenever possible.

Thank you for visiting my webpage. If you have any questions, or if you think I may be of service to you, please feel free to contact me.

  • Note:  For the purposes of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention And Consumer Protection Act of 2005, I may be a "debt relief agency."  I help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.

  • Also, please note that my bankruptcy practice is limited to individuals residing in, or business entities having a principal place of business in, the counties of Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Tioga, and Tompkins.  Depending on the circumstances, I sometimes also take bankruptcy cases in Schuyler County.
