Bill's areas of emphasis are public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, development of new financial products, mergers and acquisitions, asset securitization, and federal securities law compliance. Previously, Bill served as an attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and the District of Columbia and is a member of the Hennepin County, Minnesota State and American Bar Associations. Bill has been selected as a Leading American Attorney, a distinction earned by fewer than 8 percent of all Minnesota attorneys. He is a trustee of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and a member of the University of Minnesota Law School Board of Visitors. 

Bill received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Minnesota. He joined Briggs in 1992.
