Joel was admitted to practice law in Michigan in 1968. Joel is a member of the firm as well as the Executive and Finance Committees. Joel's practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning and probate law.

Areas of Emphasis

Probate Law

Representation in administering estates and trusts of all sizes, including the investment of liquid assets and the administration of real estate investments and closely held business.

Responsible for the distribution of assets pursuant to the will as well as Federal and State tax returns.

Estate Planning

Provide clients a complete package which includes planning for divorce, retirement, disability and death. Advise clients in methods to facilitate wealth preservation and transfer, such as by using charitable remainder trusts in connection with the sale of businesses to defer taxes, and by restructuring real estate, business and investment portfolios into family partnerships or limited liability companies to minimize wealth transfer taxes.
