Patrick Hu advises multinational corporations in their international M&A, finance, and commercial transactions involving the United States and Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Greater China region. He focuses on international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, foreign direct investment, and other cross-border business transactions and represents manufacturing and industrial clients in various industries including energy, automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, real estate, construction, media and entertainment, and others. He also advises and represents major state-owned Chinese companies in their overseas acquisitions and other investment projects.

Patrick's recent experience includes the following: representing multinational companies in the acquisition, formation, and operation of wholly foreign-owned and joint venture enterprises in semiconductor, automotive, energy, chemical, home appliance, consumer products, real estate, and other commercial and industrial sectors in China; representing private equity investors and technology companies in numerous equity financing deals in telecommunications, media and entertainment, e-commerce, computer software, real estate, and food and beverage in China; and representing major Chinese state-owned companies in the acquisition of mining assets and energy development projects outside China.

Patrick frequently speaks on international M&A deals involving China to government agencies, commerce and trade associations, as well as industry conferences and seminars. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State of Minnesota Bar, and the District of Columbia Bar. As a native of Shanghai who has practiced in the United States and China, Patrick is fluent in negotiating and preparing transactional and other legal documents in both English and Chinese.
