Brinks & Associates

Summary
Law Firm Overview
Brinks & Associates is a civil litigation and employment law firm located in Ada.
Ms. Brinks attended Calvin College and Wayne State University Law School. She began her legal career in western Michigan as a judicial law clerk.
In 1993, she left her fellow attorneys at a mid-sized firm to establish "Brinks & Associates" to facilitate her belief that a law firm of the 21st Century can be technologically efficient and reasonably priced, while maintaining a personal touch in response to the changing business and legal environment.
Brinks & Associates prides itself on prompt, personal and cost-effective responses to legal problems of its clients in an ever more complex environment. It provides a full range of services to all individual; business and insurance clients through appropriate referrals for its clients in practice areas such as family law, tax or other similar fields.
Ms. Brinks summarizes the philosophy of Brinks & Associates in the following quotation:
"True, we build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures-unless as amateurs for our own principal amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state." (By: John W. Davis, New York, 3/16/46, in 1 Record of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, 101-102.)
Brinks & Associates' clients generally come from the firm by referral from past, satisfied clients.
The firm supports community projects (softball teams, the Michigan Foster Adoptive Parent Association, National Board of Attorneys for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing, charitable events, etc.) as its primary means of sharing its presence and availibility to those who might need its legal services. Ms. Brinks has published extensively and taught both attorneys and lay individuals in the areas of the firm's expertise. Ms. Brinks' love of travel has resulted in her leading several groups of attorneys and judges on international legal exchange programs.
Ms. Brinks also serves the community as a Kentwood City Commissioner and a member of the regional transportation and mass transit planning boards.
