A member of the firm's Professional Liability and Directors & Officers practice groups, Patrick D. Filbin concentrates his practice on the defense of attorneys and accountants in malpractice litigation. In addition, Mr. Filbin defends claims brought against corporate directors, officers and other executives serving as fiduciaries.

In defending claims against attorneys, accountants, corporate executives and other fiduciaries, Mr. Filbin works closely with Plunkett Cooney's diverse team of attorneys to craft a sound legal strategy for each client. Because D&O cases often involve executives and leaders who face difficult choices every day, Mr. Filbin works closely with his clients to insure that their personal and professional interests are served and protected.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University, Mr. Filbin went to Washington D.C. to work as a lobbyist and as a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Representative Paul Kanjorski, a member of the House Banking Committee.

Later, through the College of William and Mary School of Law and Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mr. Filbin studied international law and economics at the University of London and Exeter University (England). Mr. Filbin has been a practicing attorney since 1992, and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and the Incorporated Society of Irish-American Lawyers.
