Lawyer Overview
William C. Benjamin is a partner in the firm's Corporate and Transactional Department, and a member of the Tax Practice Group and Fund Formation Practice Group. He is also co-chair of the firm's International Transactions Group. He joined the firm in 1982.
Practice
Mr. Benjamin has over 30 years of experience advising clients on the legal and tax aspects of international business transactions. He represents US companies in connection with their activities outside the United States, and foreign businesses and individuals with respect to their activities in the United States. He provides tax advice with respect to cross-border transactions of all kinds. He assists businesses and individuals with tax compliance matters and tax controversies. Mr. Benjamin can draw on an extensive network of contacts throughout the world.
Professional Activities
Mr. Benjamin is a member of the New England Regional Council of the International Fiscal Association. He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Practical U.S./International Tax Strategies, and a member of the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Mr. Benjamin is a former co-chair of the International Tax Committee of the Boston Bar Association.
