Charles C. Abut has been certified by the Supreme Court of New as a Matrimonial Law Attorney since 1998 and as a Civil Trial Attorney from 1984 to 1997. He is accredited as a Divorce and Family Mediator and as a Business and Commercial Mediator by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators.

Mr. Abut has been peer-selected for inclusion in “Best Lawyers in America” (2000-2007), New Jersey Magazine’s “Best Lawyers in New Jersey” and New York Magazine’s “The New York Area’s Best Lawyers” .

A Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, Mr. Abut has litigated a number of cases resulting in reported decisions, including Piscopo v. Piscopo , Rodgers & Hammerstein v. Gilchinsky and Jacqueline Onassis. v. Christian Dior .

Mr. Abut has been a featured speaker for the New Jersey Judicial College and is a frequent lecturer for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and for the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. He has published articles in the New Jersey Law Journal and New Jersey Lawyer, has made television appearances on ABC, CBS, MSNBC and CNBC and has been cited and quoted in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Abut received his B.A., with honors, from Columbia University and his J.D. from Cornell University Law School and has offices in Springfield and Hackensack, New Jersey.
