Mr. Gandy was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on July 14, 1963. He graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina (B.S., 1985) and from the University of South Carolina Law School (J.D., 1988) where he was a member of Delta Theta Phi. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1989, and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 1990. He was a Municipal Judge for the City of Goose Creek, South Carolina in 1993. He is a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina and American Bar Associations and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. His areas of practice include insurance law, toxic torts, and general negligence.

Mr. Gandy has significant experience in toxic tort law, particularly in asbestos litigation. He coordinates and handles the defense of hundreds of asbestos personal injury cases in South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. He has participated in asbestos personal injury trials in Texas and Tennessee. In addition, he has represented clients in South Carolina silica litigation.

Mr. Gandy has also handled the defense of more than 150 insurance cases including bad faith, breach of contract, and coverage issue cases.

A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Gandy is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, for the District of South Carolina. He is a member of the ABA, DRI, Charleston County Bar Association and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorney's Association.
