Lawyer Overview

Susanne Nelson's practice is focused on representing clients in all aspects of litigation, and she primarily represents clients in the oil and gas industry. Susanne has appeared before Texas federal and state courts and has appeared before the American Arbitration Association in Houston and New York City. She has worked on a variety of complex commercial matters involving breach of contract issues related to the oil and gas industry, joint venture agreements, licensing and distributorship agreements, and trade secret issues. She has experience with commercial cases involving tortious interference with contractual relations, misappropriation of trade secrets, business disparagement, defamation, contesting personal jurisdiction in state and federal courts, fraudulent transfer, product liability issues, Medicare fraud issues, securities fraud, and patent and trademark infringement. She also has experience obtaining temporary injunctive relief. In addition, she has worked on international cases involving choice of law issues and participated in representation of clients in a hearing to determine foreign law relating to a dispute over a Central Asian natural gas pipeline project.

While working for the Honorable Tim Taft of the First District Court of Appeals of Texas, Susanne advised appellate justices in matters involving all aspects of civil law and numerous aspects of criminal law. As part of her responsibilities at the court, she made written and oral presentations to a panel of three justices.

Susanne is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.
