Lawyer Overview

Mike Graham is a trial lawyer with more than 35 years experience in commercial and energy-related cases. He has been lead counsel in numerous federal and state jury trials, federal and state appeals, and domestic and international arbitrations. Mike has tried cases involving virtually every aspect of the energy industry, including the exploration, production, and marketing of oil and gas and the payment of governmental and private royalties. He has served as lead counsel in cases involving corporate governance, joint venture management, allegations of securities law violations and fraud, professional misconduct, trade secrets, and insurance (including political risk and business interruption insurance). He also handles complex corporate transactions, including hostile takeover attempts, mergers and acquisitions, and executive compensation arrangements.

Recently Mike has appeared on behalf of Chevron in a federal False Claims Act suit alleging underpayment of natural gas royalties since 1986, Lehman Brothers in a state court case alleging fraud, and Stewart & Stevenson in an arbitration with a natural gas marketing company.

Mike is a Fellow of the Texas and Houston Bar Foundations. He has spoken before numerous professional groups, including the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and committees of the Texas Legislature, on matters concerning trial practice and tort reform.
