Insurance companies, financial institutions, hospital and health care facilities and a number of other companies rely on Elliott to handle their intellectual property needs.   Elliott specializes in trademark licensure, prosecution, protection against infringements, and portfolio management for companies in the U.S. and internationally.

A former Senior Associate General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in Chicago, Elliott brings to his work a deep understanding of clients’ need for timeliness, open communication and cost-effectiveness.  Recent assignments include:

·        International trademark portfolio management for an international commercial cleaning and facilities management company.

·        Trademark prosecution and enforcement for an insurance company, including trademark litigation to defend the company’s IP assets.

·        Trademark prosecution and enforcement for a financial services firm.

Elliott is a Certified Public Accountant and has completed advanced coursework in trademarks at John Marshall Law School. He makes eight to 12 presentations a year on trademark law and was the principal draftsman for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Service Mark Use Manual.          

In the area of trademark law, Elliott has again been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer and an Illinois "Super Lawyer".
